Joanne Alonso Byars, MD

I am a psychiatrist who focuses on the psychiatric and cognitive aspects of Parkinson’s disease and other neurologic conditions. I work with people experiencing mood changes, anxiety, sleep problems, changes in thinking or behavior, and memory or cognitive difficulties related to Parkinson’s disease.

I am board-certified in both psychiatry and neurology and completed a fellowship in cognitive disorders. In my practice I focus on psychiatry, using my combined background to develop an individualized approach with each patient that takes into account the unique ways Parkinson’s disease can affect mental health and daily life.

I am a Tampa native and a graduate of the University of Florida. I see patients through secure telepsychiatry visits from anywhere in Florida. My practice is self-pay, though I can provide documentation that some insurance plans may reimburse.
